About The Position

We’re looking for a Property Maintenance Supervisor – Bilingual/Bilingue to lead vendor partnerships and oversee maintenance operations across 400+ retail locations, ensuring seamless store performance and cost efficiency. In this role, you’ll gain exposure to large-scale budget management ($10M+) and national projects—including new store openings and renovations—while directly influencing operational continuity. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor associates, building leadership experience in a high-impact environment. Requirements

  • A minimum of three (3) years of related experience managing retail or corporate waste operations, including financial aspects (reporting spend, monthly budget forecasting, reviewing/approving invoices).
  • Fluent verbal and written bilingual communication in both French and English.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (spreadsheets, word processing, e-mail); experience managing large datasets, databases and working with accounting software(s) is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills including prioritizing and organizing tasks, time management.
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to flex communication style across all levels of the organization and external communication with vendors.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures including: waste removal, pest control, general repair, plumbing, electrical, janitorial, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), hydro procedures, and knowledge of Health and Safety and WHIMIS procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Related experience in property maintenance and/or related post-secondary education; MMP (Maintenance Management Professional) certification is an asset.
  • experience managing large datasets, databases and working with accounting software(s) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee vendor contracts and accounts to ensure services are implemented according to the contract specifications; analyzes specifications to optimize for service and cost control.
  • Primary point of contact for vendors, providing support to Stores by resolving waste related and other operational issues with contract vendors (e.g., waste haulers, property management).
  • Coordinate in-store projects to ensure they are executed without disrupting daily store operations (e.g., waste equipment installations or removals, property management projects, new store waste bin schedules).
  • Manage budget preparation activities required for contract maintenance waste accounts (i.e. invoice reconciliation, reviewing monthly accruals, financials for accuracy and completeness), reviews maintenance expense analysis, assessing year-over-year trends in expenses to identify and communicate efficiencies and expense management improvements to Management.
  • Negotiate with vendors regarding all pricing or invoice issues, including pricing for extra work, price adjustments for unsatisfactory work by the vendor, and invoice formatting/reconciliation.
  • Organize and plan to ensure work assignments are allocated to team members appropriately; monitors adherence to establishes work methods, operational health and safety standards to ensure all maintenance requirements are met within required timelines.
  • Supervise and assist in leading, coaching and mentoring team members; providing guidance to staff members in the resolution of problems, review performance and provide feedback to the team.
  • Supervises and assists in driving department sustainability goals.
