About The Position

SpareBox Storage is hiring a Property Maintenance Manager in Amarillo, Texas. This is an active, hands-on role focused on the day-to-day condition, appearance, and basic upkeep of assigned self-storage properties. The work is primarily on site rather than desk-based, with property rentals and most routine customer support handled online, through kiosks, and by the call center.

The manager keeps properties clean, safe, functional, and presentable by inspecting sites, checking equipment, completing minor repairs and maintenance work orders, replacing appropriate broken parts, and reporting larger repair needs. The role also includes addressing occasional on-site tenant concerns and identifying maintenance or safety issues early. The position offers a Monday-Friday schedule with no regular weekend shifts and support from the company’s call center, operations team, and systems.

Requirements

• Be dependable, practical, and self-motivated, with the ability to work without close supervision.
• Notice property issues and be willing to address them; pay attention to details.
• Be comfortable using hand tools and basic maintenance equipment.
• Be able to learn and use basic software systems and web applications.
• Be organized, dependable, and able to manage time and work independently.
• Be able to safely lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in property maintenance, facilities, construction, apartments, self-storage, commercial buildings, or another hands-on field.

Responsibilities

• Walk and regularly inspect assigned properties.
• Check doors, locks, gates, lighting, and other property equipment.
• Perform minor maintenance and repairs, including light plumbing, painting, landscaping, hardware work, and general facility upkeep.
• Complete maintenance and repair work orders in a timely manner.
• Replace broken parts or equipment when appropriate and report larger repair needs.
• Keep drive aisles, grounds, work areas, and common areas clean and safe.
• Help resolve occasional on-site tenant concerns.
• Identify maintenance or safety issues before they become larger problems.
