Director Property & Maintenance
About The Position
The Granite YMCA is seeking a skilled facilities professional to serve as Property and Maintenance Director at YMCA Camp Mi-Te-Na in Alton, New Hampshire. Under the general direction of the Executive Camp Director, this role is responsible for maintaining the camp’s buildings and grounds, ensuring they are safe and in good working order. The director handles current repairs and helps develop a vision for the future of the camp’s buildings and grounds. The position leads the seasonal Maintenance team, maintains camp security year-round, and oversees repairs, maintenance, and upgrades to camp facilities and vehicles. It also involves planning facility upgrades and capital improvements, completing winter projects agreed upon with the Executive Camp Director, and developing and carrying out a camp maintenance plan. The director works with local contractors and emergency services and collaborates with other property and facilities directors within The Granite YMCA.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- General knowledge and understanding of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry trades.
- Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
Responsibilities
- Lead the seasonal Maintenance team.
- Maintain the security of the campgrounds and facilities year-round.
- Repair, maintain, and upgrade camp facilities and vehicles as needed.
- Maintain positive relationships with local contractors, including gas, electric, septic, building, and flooring contractors.
- Assist with planning facility upgrades and capital improvements.
- Complete winter projects as determined with the Executive Camp Director.
- Develop and execute a camp maintenance plan.
- Know and follow applicable local, state, and federal standards.
- Use preventative strategies to ensure the safety of the campgrounds.
- Maintain a positive relationship with local fire, police, and emergency services.
- Collaborate with the Foss Property and Maintenance Director and other Facilities Directors within The Granite YMCA.
