About The Position

Merchants Insurance Group is seeking a Property Claim Adjuster to join their Claims team. This role focuses on Commercial Property claims and involves extensive interaction with internal teams, policyholders, agents, attorneys, appraisers, and various service providers. Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years’ claims experience handling first party Property claims (Commercial claim handling experience is preferred).
• Skilled negotiator, capable of formulating strategy and action plans for files.
• State adjusters license (or ability to obtain).
• Exceptional organizational, time management, desk management, communication and negotiation skills are required.

Nice To Haves

• Commercial claim handling experience is preferred.
• Professional designations or working towards industry specific designations are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Cultivating relationships with claims and other internal staff, policyholders, attorneys, agents and a variety of service providers and experts all while working towards achieving the most optimal outcomes for Merchants and our policyholders.
• Investigating coverage and liability damages.
• Providing a high level of customer service.
• Conducting and directing timely and quality claim investigations, evaluations and equitable settlements of all assigned claims.
• Ensuring timely and accurate reserves consistent with established reserving philosophy and practices.
