Job Summary: The Property Claims Adjuster Assesses complex property claims to determine coverage, liability, and settlement outcomes in accordance with established guidelines. Applies knowledge of policies, procedures, and estimating practices to manage claims through resolution. Communicates findings and recommendations to support timely, accurate, and fair claim outcomes. Cultivates good customer relations, answers questions from independent adjusters and agents, and oversees the activities of independent adjusters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5-7 years of property claims adjusting experience
  • Property estimating software (Xactimate) proficiency
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Commercial and Farm policies is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the management of assigned property claims by managing complex files from initial review through resolution.
  • Delivers claim handling activities to ensure adherence to established standards, authority levels, and timelines.
  • Develops more complex loss information, documentation, and estimates to determine appropriate claim outcomes.
  • Interprets complex damages by examining property conditions, repair requirements, and supporting data.
  • Documents claim activity, decisions, and rationale to maintain accurate and complete claim files.
  • Confers with internal and external stakeholders to explain findings, resolve issues, and coordinate next steps.
  • Improves and integrates complex claim activities with vendors, contractors, or internal partners to support resolution.
  • Directs individuals to opportunities to improve claim handling efficiency and recommends process or outcome enhancements
