About The Position
The Hilb Group offers an internship for students to explore career paths in a growing insurance brokerage. Interns gain hands-on experience and exposure to real-world projects that support their personal and professional development. They work with experienced team members on commercial lines and benefits teams, learn about business operations, and contribute to client service initiatives. The role includes an opportunity to travel to the corporate office in Richmond, Virginia, to connect with fellow interns, network with company leaders, and participate in a volunteer event. The internship may lead to full-time employment opportunities after graduation.
Requirements
- Must be able to commute to the Columbia, South Carolina office.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Curious, motivated, and eager to learn about the insurance industry and grow professionally.
Nice To Haves
- Preferred majors include Business Management, Marketing, Communications, Risk Management & Insurance, Actuarial Science, or related fields.
Responsibilities
- Support the Commercial Lines and Employee Benefits teams across operational activities with professionalism.
- Learn the agency management system and shadow Account Managers and Producers.
- Assist the front-line service team with daily administrative and client-service tasks.
- Attend client renewal meetings and help prepare materials.
