About The Position

The Hilb Group offers students an opportunity to explore career paths within a growing insurance brokerage through hands-on learning and real-world projects. Interns work with experienced team members on the commercial lines team, learn about business operations, and contribute to client service initiatives. The internship includes travel to the corporate office in Richmond, Virginia, to connect with fellow interns, network with company leaders, and participate in a volunteer event. The internship may lead to full-time employment opportunities after graduation.

Requirements

• Must be able to commute to the New England offices.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Curiosity, motivation, and eagerness to learn about the insurance industry and grow professionally.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred majors include Business Management, Marketing, Communications, Risk Management & Insurance, Actuarial Science, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Rotate between Personal Lines and Commercial Lines departments to gain hands-on exposure to both lines of coverage.
• Support the account management team with policy documentation, endorsements, renewals, and administrative tasks.
• Assist with data entry, reporting, and quality checks within the agency management system to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Participate in client appointments and sales meetings with producers to observe client service and sales best practices.
• Contribute to special projects aimed at improving internal processes, client experience, or operational efficiency.
• Build professional communication skills through interactions with internal stakeholders.
