About The Position

The Property Accountant, reporting to the Accounting Manager, plays a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of LTSC’s Property Management portfolio. This position also supports year-end audit and tax return preparation by providing accurate and timely financial data. Requirements

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, determining closing and adjusting entries
  • Strong understanding of reading and analyzing Income Statements and Balance Sheets
  • 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping and working with Sage Intacct or other cost-accounting software
  • Experience in preparing schedules and documents for audits
  • High proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Highly organized, with a strong attention to detail and able to effectively manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Desire to work with a community-based non-profit organization in a multi-cultural environment
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Equivalent education or experience can be substituted for all minimum qualifications, except when legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration, are required.

Responsibilities

  • Review, prepare, and/or correct (as needed) invoice coding and incoming deposits (checks and wires) within the required timeframe.
  • Process accounts payable within assigned portfolio
  • Prepare financial statements and maintain a robust understanding of assigned portfolio as well as other portfolios within assigned department
  • Identify errors and/or trends in accounting data and proactively initiate regular communication with appropriate parties (such as external vendors, and LTSC Property Management Team) to resolve errors and facilitate solutions
  • Assist with reconciling differences between A/P or A/R modules and G/L module
  • Assist with reconciling inter-entity transactions
  • Assist in preparation and review of audits and tax returns
  • Reconcile property software with Sage Intacct
  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Issue 1099s for properties within assigned portfolio
  • Assist with building processes and procedures for responsibilities, including developing SOP’s
  • Other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor
  • Contribute to the day-to-day operations of the Fiscal Department and LTSC as a whole
  • Contribute to the ongoing learning of staff by sharing information and identifying training topics
  • Embody the department’s guiding practices to maintain and create opportunities for departmental and organizational development and progress
  • Participate, volunteer, and attend organization and community events including weekends, whenever necessary/expected
  • Support activities to advance the mission of LTSC to create positive change for people and places
  • Contribute, as deemed necessary and appropriate, to other activities related to the agency as a whole
