Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers and property management? We're looking for a dedicated Property Accountant to join our team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in managing the financial aspects of our diverse portfolio of properties. From transaction processing to financial reporting, you'll ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across the board.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in accounting or business administration (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of accounting and residential property experience.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a collaborative work ethic.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with Yardi software is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Record monthly financial data including rents, losses/gains, and vacancies.
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations and update analytical schedules promptly.
  • Process management fees and ensure timely payments for mortgages and real estate taxes.
  • Create and maintain payables and journal entries for each property as required.
  • Analyze and record monthly accrued expenses when necessary.
  • Review and analyze monthly ledger activity and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reporting packages to lenders and investors.
  • Assist in audit preparation and manage the audit process for the portfolio.
  • Support property management in budget preparation for non-operational expenses.
  • Monitor cash flow regularly and process cash transfers as needed.
  • Adhere to company policies and complete required trainings and meetings.
