About The Position

The Propagation Specialist supports the entire Cultivation Department by handling day-to-day plant maintenance and grow-facility cleaning specifically within the mother, clone and veg rooms. As such, it is critical that Propagation Specialists are properly trained on company protocols and the importance of state compliance. The Propagation Specialist operates with direct supervision from the Propagation Manager. Follows established policies and procedures and contributes to the development of new concepts, policies, and procedures as necessary to perform job duties and tasks. Propagation Specialists may be cross trained to care for cannabis plants in other stages of life such as, flower and post-harvest activities.

Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must pass a FBI fingerprint search and a BCI federal background search

Nice To Haves

A certification or associate or bachelor’s degree in a plant specific, farming, or other science related field is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Serves to assist the cultivation team in the organization and oversight of our nursery environments.
Ensures the maintenance of genetic mother stock and crop schedules are maintained.
Manages a nursery that supports 25,000 square feet of canopy space.
Manages genetic mother stock of 100+ unique cultivars.
Responsible for the propagation and health of all clones and seedings (propagation, transplanting, topping/pruning, fertigation, IPM).
Works with managers to monitor and document annual crop timeline and rotation to ensure timely planting and harvests.
Responsible for plant health from propagation through vegetative growth cycle.
Responsible for supply and equipment ordering for the nursery.
Documents and evaluates cloning and seed propagation success rate data.
Assists in determining cultivars to run based on yield and plant performance data.
Responsible for communicating all progress to management on a weekly basis.
Maintains all compliance systems.
