About The Position

LaRiviere, Inc. is seeking skilled civil construction project superintendents for heavy civil work in the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Spokane, Washington, and surrounding areas. This is a field position at job sites around the Northern Idaho/Eastern Washington region. The role involves planning workflow for efficient resource use, scheduling manpower and equipment, and overseeing safety compliance. The superintendent will collaborate with the safety director and train personnel on safe work practices. A key aspect of the role is the ability to operate various construction heavy equipment proficiently and safely. The position requires physical stamina, including bending, climbing, sitting, lifting, and working in various weather conditions. Duties may vary based on weather and season, and the superintendent may assist with manual labor activities as needed.

Requirements

  • Heavy Equipment Operating Experience: 7 years
  • 5 years leadership experience on heavy highway construction projects.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate a variety of construction heavy equipment.
  • Must have reliable transportation to area job sites.
  • Strong work ethic and the willingness to report to work on time.
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to read plans
  • Act as a management representative with customers, subcontractors, municipalities, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Plan workflow for most efficient use of resources.
  • Schedule manpower and equipment.
  • Plan for and oversee safety compliance on all jobs.
  • Collaborate with safety director.
  • Train personnel on safe work practices.
  • Operate construction related heavy equipment (Excavator, Skid-steer, bulldozer, backhoe, front end loader, grader, articulating haul truck, etc.) proficiently and safely at all times and in all types of conditions.
  • Assist with manual labor activities as necessary.
  • Show up 15-20 minutes prior to shift.
  • Complete a thorough walk around and ensure completion of daily equipment checklists by operators.
  • Attend and facilitate regular safety meetings.
  • Work and communicate well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Occasionally help with operator / labor work.
  • Report any safety concerns to your immediate supervisor.
  • Report hours and job duties correctly on daily timecards.
  • Keep equipment clean. Good housekeeping is a MUST.
  • Complete daily reports and enter all time and equipment usage records into Bid2Win system.
