Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Project Superintendent in high tech facility building construction.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, able to work in teams and matrix organization.
  • Experienced, committed, and stalwart leader of incident and injury free construction projects.
  • OSHA 30 certified
  • CPR and First Aid certified
  • Strong knowledge of self-performed concrete construction means, methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Understanding of formwork systems, rebar installation, concrete placement operations, concrete quality requirements, and sequencing strategies.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Teams), and have a general understanding of working within a computer network.
  • Experience with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Primavera Project Planner (P6).
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
  • Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory and techniques.
  • Experience in organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method. Familiar with CSI specification system for construction,
  • Experience with field and personnel management.
  • Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.
  • Ability to work well and maintain a cooperative attitude through high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work while frequently interrupted by phone calls and questions on work in progress.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to work closely with variety of trade and craft people in a field work situation. Patience and professionalism are essential.
  • Must be a strong team player with the ability to collaborate with various personnel within and across departments and at all levels of leadership.
  • Work schedule must be flexible to allow extended hours or off-shift work to accommodate changing construction schedule and sequences.
  • Standing/Walking/Sitting: Workday is a combination of being stationary and moving about the work location.
  • Must be able to climb stairs: Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and temporary access systems.
  • Hands/Arms: Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Frequently operates machinery and will use hands/fingers and legs to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect and position materials
  • Sight: Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus in an outdoor environment. Must be able to safely operate a vehicle with a valid driver's license. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; reading printed and digital documents
  • Hearing: Must be able to work in proximity to loud equipment more than 75% of the time. Must be able to wear hearing protection as necessary. Often required to communicate with customers and coworkers in an office setting and on the job site.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable and ultimately responsible for the subcontractor field execution and safety for the overall project.
  • Owns the project schedule and performance measurements against the key date milestones determined by the Project Manager. Works closely with the Project Engineer to provide weekly updates the project schedule.
  • Provides safety leadership, coaching, and role models quality craftsmanship in all disciplines of building construction. Nurtures an injury free environment, reviews subcontractor job hazard analyses, and leads regular safety job walks.
  • Plans and regularly reviews the project work with the Project Manager.
  • Leads weekly subcontractor foreman and safety meetings and attends all pre-bid conferences with subcontractors.
  • Participates in the subcontractor pre-qualification process with the Project Manager.
  • Participates in design reviews with the Engineer of Record to ensure local requirements are met.
  • Assists with identifying and resolving issues raised by the cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Drives the QAQC plan and supports the QAQC Project Manager throughout the construction process.
  • Executes the commissioning process and ensures all testing requirements are met through the sign off process.
  • Owns the Site Logistics Plan: Interior and exterior organization, layout, and housekeeping of equipment, and material laydown and staging areas. Updates the plan regularly as site conditions change.
  • Prepares detailed look ahead work schedules and keep them updated.
  • Expedites the delivery of materials and equipment for their timely on-site delivery.
  • Coordinates, directs, and monitors the activities of subcontractors and suppliers. Obtains, or sees that the subcontractors obtain, all necessary permits for temporary and construction purposes.
  • Coordinates the works on site with the activities of inspection agencies as necessary.
  • Handles all job labor relations.
