Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of four years' related training and at least eight years of building construction experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of general and subcontract documents, drawings, specifications, construction means, methods, and materials.
  • Understanding of line and grade and survey methods.
  • Knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting procedures.
  • Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Ability to implement leading-edge technologies such as Building Information Models (BIM) and Lean.
  • Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of accounting and cost control procedures.
  • Experience in K-12 Education and Municipal market sectors is required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the field construction of a project, including its organization, planning, and scheduling, to ensure completion on time, within budget, and to specified quality.
  • Serves as the primary liaison with owners, architects, and engineers for day-to-day construction activities.
  • Develops and implements overall project work schedules, identifying the critical path and expediting critical materials and equipment.
  • Leads, supervises, and develops all Turner field staff, including performance appraisals.
  • Ensures strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements.
  • Develops and manages the overall site safety program and ensures subcontractor compliance with Turner standards and safety codes.
  • Manages and makes decisions regarding scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and trade employee staffing.
  • Oversees work among all trades to coordinate project operations and resolves local area problems.
  • Manages labor relations with subcontractors and Turner trade staff.
  • Implements mock-ups and associated testing, review, and approval.
  • Ensures necessary permits and insurance are current and acts as liaison to inspection agencies.
  • Performs as Stormwater Compliance Coordinator (SCC).
  • Manages the General Conditions and General Requirements budget.
  • Manages the billing process, including Work-In-Place (WIP), monthly estimates, payrolls, material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications.
  • Manages work to ensure installation compliance with approved contract documents.
