About The Position

Under general supervision, provides various office and administrative support to Claims Representatives, Claims Management, and Tort attorneys within the Torts and Claims groups of the Authority’s Law Department. Collects and analyzes data, creates reports, measures performance, maintains files and records, enters data into the appropriate risk management and third party administrator systems, and retrieves data from Operations systems such as Trapeze.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field, plus one (1) year of applicable experience in a law, a claims related field, data analytics role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of business analysis standards and processes.
  • Working knowledge of report preparation methods.
  • Advanced computer and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong project management and analytical skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good organization and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to work with sensitive information while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to prepare detailed analytical reports and report findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to verify accuracy and completeness of forms and databases.
  • Ability to assemble data from various sources and synthesize into a single report.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders, to include senior management, project managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Ability to manage and meet assigned deadlines.
  • Exposed to weather conditions when attending court proceedings or traveling to various locations.
  • Requires remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time and constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Service Area Requirement: Exempt (Non-Union) employees must live within the boundaries of the CTA Statutory Service Area either at the time of employment or within 6 months of beginning employment at CTA.

  • Locating and retrieving, in a timely manner, all relevant internal documents from various departments and locations outside the law department, including but not limited to video, records, and reports.
  • Accurately organizing and maintaining case files for Claims Reps and attorneys with heavy caseloads.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development, administration, and measurement of programs, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Develops methods to improve workflow within and outside the department.
  • Coordinates various business systems and processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collects, analyzes, and evaluates data and prepares meaningful reports and presentations.
  • Performs research and gathers information and/or data related to assigned projects.
  • Updates logs, records, and databases with data gathered for analysis according to record keeping practices.
  • Creates detailed and concise presentations and reports based on analysis and provides reports to management.
  • Provides administrative support to senior department personnel.
  • Coordinates various projects, special assignments, and support activities as assigned.
  • Acts as a liaison with various departments to aid in project management and completion.
  • Collaborates with other departments to secure all reports, video and other information necessary to evaluate and adjust claims and tort lawsuits.
  • Maintains records for the Torts and Claims groups within the Law Department.
  • Creates and distributes various reports within department and to external departments and offices.
  • Assists in maintaining data within various computer systems.
  • Ensures data accuracy and integrity while efficiently entering information into appropriate risk management and third party administrator systems.
  • Responsible for preparing and distributing various reports.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
