About The Position

Project Scientist/Manager To best integrate into our existing exceptional team, the ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, career-oriented scientist with the ability to apply technical and critical thinking skills to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients. We are looking for a team member that is knowledgeable of environmental science principles and policies. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience (working in environmental consulting or other applicable environmental sector).

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related field with at least 5 years of environmental consulting experience
  • Hold professional registration or certification a plus
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently
  • Ability to organize and manage field sampling efforts, manage large amounts of laboratory data, analyze information, and prepare technical reports
  • Ability to interact/negotiate with regulatory personnel, contractors and clients
  • Detail-oriented and timely in completing assignments and contribute to a positive work environment
  • Ability to balance personal and project workloads and schedules to accommodate multiple projects
  • Works well as an independent but accountable team member
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge and compliance expertise
  • Strong personal safety culture
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training in accordance with 29CFR 1910.120
  • Proficient in MS office

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with designing and implementing UST Removal Closure Assessments, Site Assessment/Characterization and Remediation associated with petroleum products, including data evaluation and reporting.
  • Experience with completing and/or updating Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans at active vehicle maintenance facilities, including project reporting.
  • Hands-on experience implementing drainage surveys to maintain compliance with regulatory discharge permitting requirements and/or facilitate flow.
  • Experience completing Wastewater Discharge Permits and associated Discharge Monitoring Reports.
  • Experience with the operation and maintenance of oil/water separators.
  • Hands-on Project Management experience including project scope development, project implementation and/or oversight, budget management and invoicing.

Responsibilities

  • Champion quality and demonstrate leadership by personal high standards for work processes and products and exemplary service to clients.
  • Schedule, oversee and/or complete field work at locations across the country.
  • Prepare technical reports for delivery to clients, perform quality control review, and maintain deliverable quality to meet internal and client requirements.
  • Actively support and participate in the company health and safety program by teaching and enforcing health and safety standards, regulations, and procedures.
  • Be open to professional development opportunities including training in a variety of technical and project management areas and mentoring from senior staff.
