About The Position

Braun Intertec is a 100% employee-owned environmental consulting, geotechnical engineering, and testing firm seeking a Project Scientist to lead and manage various environmental projects. This includes due diligence, remedial investigation, and response action implementation. The role involves budgeting, client communication, project setup and management, directing field staff, and final reporting. It also includes mentoring junior staff and coordinating with internal and external resources.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and independently analyze and interpret technical reports, technical guidance documents, and governmental regulations pertaining to environmental contamination
  • Strong technical writings skills including written reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information verbally and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public
  • Ability to independently solve practical problems and manage daily project variables
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage and procure client relationships
  • 4 year degree in Geology, Earth or Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6+ years related experience in environmental assessment, investigations, and remediation
  • OSHA 40 hour Hazwoper
  • Direct experience with Brownfield Programs (VIC, PBP)

Responsibilities

  • Conducting and managing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA)
  • Conducting and managing Phase II ESAs and related soil, vapor and groundwater contaminant investigations
  • Conducting and managing Brownfield redevelopment remediation and related services
  • Performing detailed cost estimates for environmental investigation and remediation projects
  • Preparing response action plans to facilitate remediation and redevelopment
  • Coordinating and directing field personnel and contractor personnel
  • Assisting in training new staff in field procedures
  • Preparing scopes of work, work breakdown structures, and cost proposals
  • Managing projects including direct client communications
  • Data evaluation and report preparation
