About The Position

IMCO General Construction is seeking a Safety Coordinator to work exclusively on our Oxbow project in Oxbow, OR. This position reports to the Area Safety Manager and is accountable for assisting in implementing and overseeing the safety policies and procedures of IMCO General Construction and its subsidiaries. The role involves acting as a subject matter expert for safety regulatory requirements, including client-specific needs and state, Federal, and local legislation. Primary responsibilities include jobsite coordination of safety and health policies, interacting with personnel on safety issues, and assisting in identifying and eliminating hazards and incidents. IMCO is looking for a detail-oriented, communicative, and decisive individual.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three years of experience managing safety in construction.
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Current and valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Enrollment in a drug-free workplace program is required.
  • A criminal background check is required.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements.

  • Applicants must reside in and be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30 outreach construction card and/or safety certification from an accredited organization (i.e., BCSP, IHMM, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the identification, analysis, and development of controls to eliminate or minimize occupational hazards.
  • Provide site orientations for all project employees, including subcontractors.
  • Participate in and lead risk assessments using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
  • Participate and support near-miss and incident reporting, investigation, development of corrective actions, and closure.
  • Participate in or conduct root cause analyses.
  • Support and provide HSE training to ensure training content is reviewed and updated as necessary.
  • Lead implementation of safety-related document control program into company-required databases.
  • Participate in corporate safety team meetings and support the continuous improvement process.
  • Support return-to-work program for injured employees as directed by the Claims and Risk Manager.
