About The Position

Responsible for project-wide safety and health administration. This role requires the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals, from laborers to project owners, while maintaining credibility. The Project Safety Coordinator must be knowledgeable of OSHA Standards, computer literate, and possess strong communication skills at all levels. Bilingualism or the ability to translate between English and Spanish is also essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 yrs + in construction with safety responsibilities, commercial, parking structures, and industrial type projects.
  • Experience with self-performing work in excavation, concrete.
  • Mix of public and private project experience.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED trained and/or instructor.
  • Experience in accident investigations to determine the Root Cause.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Fully aware of applicable safety standards.
  • Bi-lingual or have means to translate to either English/Spanish.
  • Good communicator at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Construction Directors to establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and HSE standards within boundaries of company policy.
  • Administers both Clear’s and Owner safety program requirements.
  • Develops specific onsite programs, as required.
  • Performs site audits for unsafe practices, conditions-make recommendations and/or know specific regulation on proper corrections.
  • Represents Company in project meetings and client interface.
  • Leads/performs accident investigations.
  • Trains personnel (e.g. Clear toolbox-sub in general meetings).
  • Reports WC claims and performs onsite WC administration for both VCC and sub injuries.
  • Proactively participates in safety programs.
  • Performs recordkeeping/document control for HAZCOM, training etc. This includes various reports to Owner.
  • Assists in develop/maintain Hazard Analysis Documentation.
  • Assists in the training/orientation of employees when needed.
  • Administers First Aid, CPR, AED where necessary.
  • Stays current on safety regulations.
  • Attends and participates in miscellaneous site meetings, sharing knowledge, information, and ideas when needed.
  • Performs other duties and services to ensure a successful project is delivered and client is satisfied.
  • Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • This position may supervise the work of others (e.g. Project Safety Assistant).
