About The Position

Assist with the management of the company's occupational health and safety systems. This includes conducting site audits and inspections. Provide job site safety and health resources. This hourly, non-exempt position works with indirect supervision.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license for the state in which you reside with an acceptable driving record per company minimum standards for drivers.
  • Strong written / verbal communication, excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • OSHA Authorized 30 Hour Construction course.
  • Current AED/CPR / First Aid Certification from a nationally recognized program.
  • Must attend continuing education seminars, meetings, etc. that pertain to health and safety to ensure GOH is up to date and incompliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Talk and hear in conversations with customers.
  • Able to see and read PC screens, read normal type size print.
  • Use/operate basic office equipment such as phones, computer, file cabinets, copier, etc.
  • Use fingers/hands to type, write and file.
  • Bending, stooping, stretching, and prolonged standing.
  • Work in field or plant environment with exposure to adverse or extreme weather conditions, exhaust fumes, noise, dust, extreme temperatures.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Walk and work on uneven terrain.
  • Navigate plant/mine sits and their hazardous terrain to travel to/from/between buildings.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer OSHA 30 Hour Construction course completion.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in safety related curriculum preferred.
  • Board certified safety credentials from a nationally-recognized organization (for example, ASP, CSP, CIH, CHST) preferred.
  • 2 years in occupational safety in construction, mining, or manufacturing is preferred.
  • Sit for sustained periods of time.
  • Sit in vehicle for sustained periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
  • Frequently work more than 40 hours per week.
  • May work non-traditional hours including night shift, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Frequent travel to job sites for auditing and inspections.
  • Identify and correct hazards through assistance and education.
  • Frequently identify, develop, coordinate, and conduct safety training.
  • Frequently investigate and document safety related incidents.
  • Frequently work outside, including working in inclement weather conditions.
  • Perform site safety inspections and audits.
  • Travel and/or drive to trainings, meetings, & events, etc.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
