About The Position

The Program Director provides strategic, operational, fiscal, and administrative leadership for Project Restore, an intensive restorative community-based intervention serving 28–30 young men ages 15–28 across two cohorts in Brooklyn’s Flatbush neighborhood. The initiative is operated by Kings Against Violence Initiative (KAVI) in partnership with the Kings County District Attorney’s Office (KCDA), CUNY Institute for State & Local Governance (ISLG), Center for Justice Innovation (CFJ), and Inside Circle. Its trauma-informed model includes credible mentoring, clinical mental health support, case management, paid career-building internships, community activation events, and retreats. The Program Director oversees implementation from pre-programming through post-programming and aftercare, leads the multidisciplinary team, and ensures fidelity to the Project Restore model. The position serves as the primary liaison among KAVI, project partners, and municipal stakeholders, and is responsible for inter-agency governance, contract deliverables, budget management, and representing KAVI in the broader Brooklyn Project Restore network. The Program Director directly supervises the Program Manager and co-supervises the team with KCDA’s Director of Community Restorative Justice Initiatives, consistent with the partnership structure.
