About The Position

NYCEDC’s Capital Program is responsible for channeling New York City’s capital budget investments into design and construction projects that advance the City’s economic development. The Capital Program’s staff consists of design and construction professionals; administrative staff; and project support analysts who work together to provide physical infrastructure, facilities, and amenities. We work to strengthen the City’s competitive position through the implementation of a wide variety of municipal construction projects. A Project Director (PD) in the Capital Program Department (CAP) will implement a design and construction portfolio of 6-10 active capital projects with a total project value of about $100 million. Reporting to a Vice President in CAP, Project Directors manage all aspects of design and construction across multiple projects on behalf of both NYCEDC and other City agencies. Project types include waterfront development, buildings, major infrastructure, and public open spaces. The position plays a key role in identifying and mitigating the risks inherent in building complex projects by implementing project controls, while also working towards a greater level of equity and inclusion with MWDBE participation.
