About The Position

The Project Procurement Manager is responsible for the strategic sourcing, commercialization, supplier development, purchase, and contract management of Electrical Equipment (Motors, Switchgear, MCC, Electrical Drives, Transformers, and Devices) supporting industrial plant applications. This role involves collaborating with the LE strategic sourcing team to create, maintain, and negotiate local and/or global frame agreements consistent with Linde Engineering's product line strategy and business interests. The position supports projects by preparing the Project Procurement Strategy/Plan and selecting suppliers for bidder lists. A key function is to understand and identify all corresponding risks and opportunities using available forecasts, and to obtain best-in-class supplier price and delivery performance. The role includes conducting timely review of all proposals to ensure the most competitive opportunity is included in capital project proposal estimates and facilitating technical & commercial Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) evaluations with stakeholders. Additionally, the Project Procurement Manager actively manages key suppliers, fosters strategic relationships to create a competitive advantage for Linde Engineering, establishes KPIs with key suppliers to drive supplier behaviors, leads the supplier measurement process with relevant input, and negotiates supplier back charges and claims.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BS) (Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical) preferred, MBA preferred.
  • At least five to seven (5-7) years of industry experience with Electrical and Instrumentation Equipment (EE) in direct support of capital projects required.
  • PMP certification is desirable.
  • Further experience with Commercial Contracts is a plus.
  • International Association of Contract & Commercial Management certification required within one year of start date.
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals at a professional level.
