About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking an exceptional Acquisition Project Manager for an exciting opportunity to support the Air Force's acquisition of Sentinel, the nation’s next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). This role is part of the Integration Support Contract (ISC), where BAE Systems provides advisory and assistance services in engineering, logistics, management, scientific analysis, and other subject matter expertise to augment and optimize management of the Sentinel ICBM Prime Contractor. The position involves direct support to a national security-critical weapon system throughout its lifecycle, shaping program management products and educating the government customer on acquiring, operating, and maintaining the weapon system. The candidate will be a trusted mission partner to the Air Force organization responsible for the land-based nuclear deterrent.

Requirements

  • 7 yrs of progressive technical experience
  • Experience on an Acquisition Category (ACAT) I level program or similar
  • Demonstrated comfort and capabilities working under stressful conditions, aggressive schedules, variable workloads, and shifting priorities
  • Risk management experience; demonstrated management experience evaluating and mitigating risk at the program or enterprise level
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in managing program cost, schedule, and/or performance
  • Must have a current Secret security clearance or higher (adjudicated within the past 6 years) and be eligible to obtain and maintain all required Special Program accesses
  • Pursuant to Government contract, this position requires U.S. citizenship status.
  • Experience at a System Program Office (or higher-level staff) executing/overseeing program(s) in the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) or similar acquisition program phase
  • Understanding of integration across multiple areas of an ACAT I level program
  • Understanding of Control Account Management responsibilities
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management

  • Experience creating presentation content for executive level meetings and conducting senior level meetings

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a non-supervisory Acquisition Logistician accountable to the Product Support Branch lead for all assigned tasks for Sentinel Product Support.
  • Work with a highly skilled team providing mission-critical acquisition project management, reporting, and program integration functions on behalf of the Sentinel System Program Office.
  • Serve as an acquisition logistics subject matter expert, key program advisor, and a focal point for the assessment and reporting of Sentinel program status, including technical performance, contract performance, enterprise integrated master schedule health, and risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Operate in an organizational culture that develops and challenges employees to achieve high performance in a fast-paced, high-morale workplace using streamlined management policies and procedures.
  • Work with Air Force stakeholders for the evaluation and integration of various integrated product support elements including Maintenance Planning and Management, Depot Maintenance, Support Equipment, and other Integrated Product Support elements as required by the integrated product teams.
  • Identify specific Logistics processes, key stakeholders and schedule to support the programs cross functional activities and resulting product support package.
  • Provide direct support to a national security-critical weapon system throughout engineering development, deployment, and sustainment.
  • Help shape the quality and performance of program management products from across the directorate and functional areas.
  • Help educate and equip the government customer to acquire, operate, and maintain an entire weapon system-of-systems.
  • Support the innovative, digital engineering-driven Air Force organization responsible to design, build, test, transition, and sustain the nation’s land-based nuclear deterrent.
