About The Position

BluMetric is currently seeking a Project Manager, with a background in water and wastewater treatment operations project delivery, to join our Project Management Office (PMO). This intermediate position will, based in the Yellowknife Office, and be accountable for medium-complexity multi-disciplinary projects and be the primary point-person responsible for assigned project delivery on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications and/or work plans. To achieve these important goals, the Project Manager will work within BluMetric’s project management framework initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/controlling, and closing assigned projects. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and time management skills, an ability to anticipate challenges and to address change, as well as experience working in remote indigenous communities. This position will require onsite work with expectations of up to three (3) days per week onsite, with periods of full-time onsite or remote site work and may include managing direct reports. This is a future vacancy within the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience managing water and/ or wastewater treatment operations projects.
  • Proven experience managing multiple sites or large-scale operations.
  • Strong financial acumen (budgeting, forecasting, P&L oversight).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project tracking tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Actively working towards or holding certification as a Project Manager Professional (PMP), or equivalent considered an asset.
  • Security clearance (or ability to achieve) an asset.
  • Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) compliance is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Be accountable for assigned projects, maintaining status and addressing risks in a timely manner, with consideration for northern constraints such as seasonality, logistics, and remote access.
  • Manage projects through their entire lifecycle, including planning and execution in remote and northern environments.
  • Support project proposal initiatives, collaborating with technical teams to deliver detailed proposals aligned with market objectives and northern project realities
  • Support development of Project Charters for approved projects, defining goals, objectives, risks (including seasonal and logistical risks), assumptions, staffing levels, roles and responsibilities, work breakdown structure, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Support and lead contract management including development, review, and negotiation, particularly within multi-stakeholder frameworks (e.g., federal, territorial, Indigenous, and private partners).
  • Lead stakeholder management, including facilitating or leading client interactions across complex, multi-party environments (e.g., CIRNAC, PSPC, and BluMetric).
  • Manage project activities throughout the lifecycle, including allocation of resources, scheduling, documentation, and budget, with consideration for limited local resources and supply chain challenges.
  • Plan project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and micro-deliverables using appropriate software tools and/or PM methods, accounting for seasonal access constraints (e.g., winter roads, limited construction windows.
  • Organize project teams into suitable workgroups and guide them to deliver according to specifications, including coordination of remote and fly-in personnel where required.
  • Establish and deliver mechanisms for tracking project progress and reporting to stakeholders via formal communication plans.
  • Adhere to established project management methodologies while adapting to northern operating conditions.
  • Track all project costs to ensure completion within budget; account for cost variability associated with remote logistics and procurement.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts within project teams; develop contingency plans to mitigate risks associated with remote work and seasonal impacts.
  • Manage project dependencies, including those tied to logistics, access, and regulatory processes.
  • Participate in project Health and Safety meetings as required, with consideration for remote site safety and environmental conditions.
