About The Position

The purpose of this job is to oversee the activities of Project Managers and Business Analysts to prepare, establish, implement and execute effectively projects for Information Technology, Software Development, as well as external vendors, from inception to completion. This position will be accountable for all necessary requirements gathering, project planning, scheduling, tracking and communication required for the successful execution of cross-functional projects and activities, and their transition to QA and operations within the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Project Management or a combination of the above.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • PMP certification required.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project / Project Server and / or other project management tools.
  • Experience working with issue tracking tools like Jira.
  • Demonstrated success in working with cross-functional teams.
  • SharePoint, ShareFile or experience with a similar content management tool is required.
  • Strategic thinker with strong communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with various departments.
  • Ability to influence outcomes without direct authority and ability to hold self and others accountable for commitments.
  • Possesses and maintains a thorough understanding of software development, business analysis, system and networking, operations, and quality assurance methodologies, concepts and best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Software Quality Assurance testing, Computer Programming, Systems Analysis and Design, Software Development, Information Technology, Business Analysis or Data Analysis is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, mentor, and manage the direct reports of Project Managers and Business Analysts. Ensure they are trained hands-on to the systems managed and remain well versed to create detailed software requirements and manage projects based on practical knowledge and hands-on experience.
  • Lead and oversee the documentation of business initiatives, requirements, business analysis, and operational procedures in the organization.
  • Ensure that organizational initiatives are well defined, documented, and evaluated before they transition to projects. Work closely with vendors, Information Technology, Software Development, QA, Operations for detailed project tasks sequence, dependencies, readiness, and resources availability, with buy-in from everyone involved. Ultimately, ensure requirements and schedules provide predictable outcomes by eliminating gaps proactively, while making sure that the related processes are followed by all departments.
  • Facilitate project team collaboration and communication and ensure readiness to start as well as on-time delivery of projects in a standardized, effective manner, and their transition to day-to-day operation.
  • Manage project teams to define project scope, project requirements, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop and direct the project management standard processes to ensure all projects are consistent with the overall company goals and objectives. Ensure that the project management standard operating requirements and procedures are updated and revised on a continuous basis to ensure optimal performance and effective resource management.
  • Ensure that the entire organization follows the IT Governance process including driving approved projects through each step of the Governance process, project documentation management and administration of any workflow processes.
  • Develop, mentor, build and foster a team environment within the division, but also across the departments and vendors involved in the projects.
  • Contribute to the overall design of project development and lifecycle plans.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining project portfolio management practices.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the PMO including establishing appropriate tools, training, reporting and workflow management as appropriate.
  • Ensure PMO team remains aligned with overall company strategy and proposals.
  • Prepare alternative development and risk management scenarios proactively.
  • Support weekly and monthly tracking and reporting of briefing materials for meetings and a variety of high-level content, professionally developed business forms, presentations and proposals. Provide reports as required which may be used to provide information to the Executive team.
  • Partner with QA and Operations on a regular basis throughout the project lifecycle for knowledge gathering, evaluation of plans, requirements gathering and evaluation, and making sure procedures are updated during the transition to new systems before Go Live.
