About The Position

Flynn Group of Companies is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our Victoria Branch (located at 6836 Kirkpatrick Crescent, Saanichton BC). Flynn is the Leading Building Envelope Commercial Contractor in North America, with 6000+ employees and 38 branches. The Project Manager works with an amazing team in our Commercial Roofing Division and supporting a wide array of projects and customers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in Commercial Roofing
  • Experience with re-roofing and New Construction
  • Experience with Retail, Hospitals, Schools, office buildings, etc.
  • Technically savvy with software
  • Strong Customer Service skills / Positive Communication skills
  • Proven skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans and specifications
  • Knowledge of Building codes and safety regulations
  • Valid Driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Works with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
  • Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
  • Works with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
  • Review all aspects of a new order including desk order, estimate, pre-plan information
  • Chair and supervise post award meetings for informed transition from sales to operations.
  • Communicate all aspects of job status i.e. extras, schedule delays etc. with client.
  • Negotiate extras for all applicable revisions and prepare necessary documentation (internal and external).
  • Co-ordinate issuance of all contracts or purchase orders to subcontractors.
  • Sub-out installation, when deemed necessary, in conjunction with area supervisors.
  • Co-ordinate the investigation and resolution of disputes, defects, and back charges.
  • Attend jobsite meetings including final inspections, where possible or necessary.
  • Monitor and approve subcontract invoices.
  • Approve close out of projects and ensure all invoices have been issued.
  • Obtain monthly man hour forecast from are supervisor and prepare man hour backlog report.
  • Obtain percentage complete on each project for month end billing and reporting.
