About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the construction management efforts for two pump station projects in Monterey County. This role is responsible for overseeing projects from planning and pre-construction through construction and closeout, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project requirements. The Project Manager will serve as the primary liaison between project stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of construction project management experience.
  • Experience working for a general contractor or heavy civil contractor.
  • Experience managing heavy civil, water/wastewater, pump station, or sewer infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage complex construction projects.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand goals, requirements, and expectations.
  • Assist in identifying and coordinating consultants, contractors, and project teams.
  • Develop and define project scope and facilitate stakeholder alignment.
  • Lead coordination meetings to establish responsibilities and schedules.
  • Obtain necessary approvals to initiate project planning, design, and procurement activities.
  • Ensure completion of all pre-construction requirements and documentation.
  • Verify purchase orders for consultants, contractors, materials, and equipment.
  • Organize and lead pre-construction meetings.
  • Secure stakeholder approvals prior to construction activities.
  • Coordinate consultants, contractors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and overall performance.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address risks, issues, and changes.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders and field teams.
  • Ensure project objectives are achieved safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project files and records.
  • Ensure timely preparation and distribution of project reports and documentation.
  • Provide contract administration and construction management support.
  • Support project closeout activities and final documentation.
  • Resolve project and team issues while escalating concerns when necessary.
  • Travel between active construction sites as required.
  • Respond promptly to field issues impacting safety, schedule, or project performance.
  • Access remote project locations and transport project-related materials as needed.
