Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field or in a related area required.
  • Work experience in all disciplines of construction (civil, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing) preferred.
  • Experience with large commercial projects; healthcare, higher education, corporate campuses, justice, science & technology is desired.
  • Ability to prioritize requests and manage projects to meet target delivery dates.
  • Ability to recognize a problem or issue that may be affecting project performance.
  • Good judgment in addressing technical issues and effectively managing and leading a team.
  • Ability to organize and collaborate on efforts to resolve problems or issues promptly.
  • Intermediate knowledge/proficiency of MS Office Suite (strong Excel skills in particular).
  • Intermediate understanding of Procore construction software is preferred.
  • Scheduling knowledge of Primavera P6 is preferred.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Construction Management or a related field is desired; a combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring projects are tracked to all project metrics such as schedule, budget, safety, quality, and client needs.
  • Managing and administering projects in compliance with company policies and procedures and Rudolph and Sletten’s Core Values.
  • Demonstrating understanding of the preconstruction process and its integration into construction.
  • Participating with the Preconstruction team in estimate preparation, review, and subcontractor post-bid meetings.
  • Effectively managing the job set-up process while following company procedures.
  • Assembling the team and clearly establishing team member roles and responsibilities.
  • Facilitating kickoff meetings where project procedures are reviewed and agreed upon by R&S, owner, and design team.
  • Assembling the project closeout plan and schedule for completion immediately following construction completion, including turnover packages, training, and subcontractor and R&S contract closeout.
  • Creating and leading a jobsite culture that prioritizes safety.
  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations to include health, safety, and welfare as appropriate.
  • Being responsible for the financial health and success of the project.
  • Supporting Corporate Finance objectives by abiding by procedures and providing accurate project financial reports.
  • Establishing the project original budget set-up after a thorough understanding of the Owner Agreement requirements and monthly payment application requirements.
  • Understanding and owning original project budgets and the intent of individual budget lines, and verifying/agreeing on the use of the budgets in the forecast.
  • Tracking subcontractor outstanding potential change orders monthly and managing the project team's timely processing of subcontractor change orders.
  • Leading the project team in developing and maintaining the project master schedule.
  • Implementing and facilitating the Last Planner System (LPS).
  • Establishing and implementing a Quality Management Protocol that aligns with the Owner contract.
  • Overseeing and managing the submittal and coordination process.
  • Overseeing and managing the successful project BIM management plan.
  • Resolving field quality issues with the owner, architect, and subcontractors.
  • Maintaining a complete understanding of executed Owner agreement requirements, terms, and limitations.
  • Keeping Owner agreement/requirements aligned with subcontract agreements.
  • Establishing and actively maintaining business development relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, consultants, and others while building a network for future business contacts.
  • Participating with the regional office on active business development activities and project pursuits when asked.
  • Promoting a positive work environment.
  • Developing relationships with team members, establishing leadership and assignment of team member responsibilities.
  • Motivating people to perform effectively and encouraging cooperation, communication, and collaboration.
  • Identifying and helping to fill a role within a project as project conditions require.
  • Participating and providing leadership in regional meetings, Safety Dinner events, Career Path Training, and group activities.
  • Analyzing and resolving complex construction process problems and issues and effectively communicating while interfacing with all levels of personnel.
  • Following instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Handling a varied workload and multiple priorities while working as a team with coworkers to accomplish company and project goals.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
