About The Position

The Project Manager will complete installations of PLC, SCADA, and BMS Systems by organizing and controlling project elements and progress. This role involves managing all aspects of construction projects from initiation to completion, including hiring and directing subcontractors, ordering materials, billing, communication, and ensuring quality control.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills with Engineering/Programming, Technicians, and Ops Management.
  • Ability to perform and document jobsite visits.
  • Experience in preparing project close-out documentation.
  • Ability to assist technicians with organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling start-up assignments.
  • Experience in reviewing monthly job labor cost reports.
  • Maintained industry technical knowledge, including proper electrical and mechanical installation methods and project management issues.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes construction projects by accepting new projects, collecting and completing project documentation, analyzing timelines, understanding requirements, and collaborating with the Operation Supervisor and engineering/programming teams for scheduling.
  • Hires electrical subcontractors by reviewing competitive bids, communicating with Sales, creating and maintaining subcontract documentation, and enforcing proper execution.
  • Directs electrical subcontractors by reviewing project information, subcontract, and specifications; communicating timelines; prioritizing completion areas; answering questions; enforcing proper installation methods; and verifying documentation.
  • Orders project material by completing requisition documents, selecting and coordinating with the panel builder, scheduling delivery, and communicating with the customer regarding storage.
  • Bills construction projects by collaborating with Administration for billing creation and coordinating with the customer for billing requirements.
  • Communicates project information by liaising with Engineering/Programming, Technicians, and Ops Management regarding progress; performing and documenting jobsite visits; attending meetings; updating deadlines; and pricing/directing change orders.
  • Completes construction projects by assisting technicians with organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling start-up assignments; coordinating modifications and corrections; accepting turnover documentation for project close-out; preparing close-out documentation; transferring data; completing Service turnover documentation; and conducting Owner Training.
  • Achieves financial objectives by collaborating with the Ops management team to review monthly job labor cost reports and initiating corrective actions.
  • Maintains industry technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and staying updated on installation methods and project management issues.
  • Mentors less senior Project Managers by assisting with recruiting and training, sharing technical and installation knowledge.
  • Provides quality control of installations by complying with safety requirements, critiquing commissioning methods, verifying documentation and task completion, and communicating needed corrections.
  • Contributes to team effort by leading by example, maintaining a positive attitude, preparing for and attending meetings, and accomplishing related results.
  • Demonstrates willingness and ability to travel up to 75% to cooperate with and understand the importance of high-profile customers with locations in multiple regions and recognizes a sense of urgency with those needs.
