About The Position

The Project Manager supports timely, within budget project delivery utilizing advanced project management methodologies, and exceptional organizational abilities. This role will initially play a key role in supporting Spearhead’s expansion build, working closely with our existing project management team, project leads, tradespeople and external partners to ensure successful planning and execution. Following completion of the expansion phase, the Project Manager will transition to being fully dedicated to Spearhead’s core project portfolio. The Project Manager will effectively support multiple project priorities with minimal oversight, collaborating with several project teams to ensure successful project outcomes. This role encompasses comprehensive project lifecycle management, requiring strong leadership in cross-functional team coordination and relationship management. The Project Manager will ensure seamless communication and alignment throughout project execution by implementing strategic project planning, risk management, and project management maturity initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a site-based role such as a Site Foreman or a Site Superintendent, with exposure to interpreting drawings, coordinating trades, and managing on-site delivery
  • Diploma or degree in business administration, project management, engineering, or related field
  • PMP certification
  • 5+ years of project management experience across multiple industries and project types
  • High proficiency in project management software
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management
  • Detail-oriented with ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities
  • Business analysis and process improvement experience
  • Financial management and contract administration experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site support and coordination for Spearhead’s expansion build during the initial phase of the role
  • Oversee and coordinate equipment installers and specialists, subcontractors, and site personnel for the installation of glulam production line equipment to ensure work is delivered safely, on schedule, and to specification
  • Coordinate the receipt, delivery, and on-site staging and movement of equipment and machinery to support efficient execution of the equipment installation for the expansion build
  • Interpret and work directly from technical drawings, construction documents, and building plans to support execution on site
  • Monitor and control progress on-site, ensuring alignment with project scope, quality standards, and construction methodologies
  • Work collaboratively with Sr Project Leaders, Project Leaders, and project teams to support project management needs
  • Support project planning through efficient development of project charters, scope statements, schedules, and budgets
  • Proactively identify risks and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies
  • Contribute to development of organizational project management maturity and best practices
  • Stay current with project management methodologies to maintain high operational standards
  • Document and share best practices and standard operating procedures
  • Oversee project planning and execution activities, providing support, mentorship, and guidance to team members
  • Facilitate seamless integration between project phases while maintaining organizational standards
  • Develop and maintain project schedules with input from internal and external stakeholders
  • Support budget planning and cost management activities
  • Respond to RFP’s and project pre-qualifications
  • Generate financial forecasts and project cost analysis
  • Manage project invoicing, project expenditure, and project health
  • Lead change request management and contract administration
  • Ensure timely development of project documentation for financial reporting
  • Facilitate the monthly invoicing process
  • Develop detailed work breakdown structures and coordinate project deliverables
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings and monitor progress against established baselines
  • Develop and implement project-specific quality control and risk management frameworks that integrate quality standards, acceptance criteria, risk assessment protocols, and mitigation strategies tailored to project scope and stakeholder requirements
  • Design proactive monitoring and control throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain clear communication channels with project teams, clients, and stakeholders
  • Support technical and business communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Track progress against milestones and maintain quality standards through regular reporting
  • Implement governance processes for all project management activities
