About The Position

As our next Project Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of leading new product development initiatives and managing complex automotive programs from concept to launch. Your expertise in program management, product development, APQP, and cross-functional leadership will be critical in ensuring successful launches, customer satisfaction, and business growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive product design and development
  • Minimum 5 years of program or project management experience
  • Strong understanding of APQP, PPAP, and automotive quality systems
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements and automotive product development processes
  • Strong understanding of CAD systems, GD&T, datum structures, and engineering drawings
  • Experience developing product validation requirements and testing plans
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and customer-facing environments

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation preferred
  • Experience in mechatronics product development
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, pumps, and automotive fluid management products
  • Experience with casting, forging, machining, grinding, and secondary manufacturing processes
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification/background
  • Knowledge of CMM, SPC, and statistical analysis tools
  • Experience with equipment procurement and supplier development
  • Experience leading global or multi-site automotive development programs

Responsibilities

  • Lead new product development programs and manage all aspects of program execution
  • Coordinate APQP activities to ensure successful product launches
  • Manage supplier relationships, capital equipment suppliers, and cross-functional project teams
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to customer requirements
  • Lead cross-functional teams throughout the program lifecycle
  • Manage commercial aspects of assigned programs
  • Direct and support CAD designers in the development of product models and engineering drawings
  • Review and validate CAD designs, specifications, tolerances, and technical requirements
  • Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFA (Design for Assembly), and concurrent engineering principles to optimize product designs
  • Drive innovation and support intellectual property development initiatives
  • Coordinate acquisition of materials and services required for development programs
  • Lead product verification and validation activities, including hydraulic and acoustic performance testing
  • Oversee prototype builds, inspections, testing activities, and process validation
  • Act as the primary customer contact for technical and program-related communications
  • Prepare and present project status updates, technical reports, and customer presentations
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and safety management systems
