About The Position

This position is responsible for all aspects of project management including estimating, bidding, scheduling, oversight, closeout, and financial outcome of municipal and industrial water well drilling, well rehabilitation, and well pump repair and installation projects in Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota for Layne Christensen Company (a subsidiary of Granite Construction). Perform accurate project revenue and cost financial forecasting to ensure profitability goals are met for each water resources project. Coordinate with estimators and project controls group to establish budget. Coordinate efforts with business development and operations teams to manage resources to meet project schedule. Participate in bid review and bid closing to ensure accuracy of bid and evaluate project feasibility; work with business development team to develop bid schedule. Provide environment where dynamic project communication occurs between Superintendents and Area Manager to ensure work is accomplished in an efficient, profitable, and safe manner. Ensure proper job controls, i.e. quantities, costs, revenue and schedule. Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, corporate management, inspectors, etc., providing customer service to develop long-term partnerships with client base. Ensure accurate project reports for the job allowing for continuous improvement in performance. Run projects at profitability levels to meet or exceed expected margins. Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Municipal and industrial water well drilling, well rehabilitation, and well pump repair and installation project management experience.
  • Experience in estimating, bidding, scheduling, oversight, closeout, and financial outcome of projects.
  • Ability to perform accurate project revenue and cost financial forecasting.
  • Ability to coordinate with estimators, project controls, business development, and operations teams.
  • Experience in bid review and bid closing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, corporate management, and inspectors.
  • Understanding and support of corporate safety initiatives.
