About The Position

The Project Manager is responsible for day-to-day delivery of assigned structured cabling projects within a hyperscale data center program, from planning and mobilization through customer acceptance and closeout. The PM owns project schedules, cost forecasts, change management, customer reporting, and coordination with field leadership, Procurement, subcontractors, and QA/QC. Reporting to a Senior Project Manager or Program Manager, the PM works independently within established program standards and delegated authority to deliver safe, high-quality installation services that meet contractual scope, budget, and milestone commitments. The PM proactively resolves execution issues and escalates risks requiring program-level decisions or support.

Requirements

Ability to independently manage day-to-day project delivery, prioritize competing demands, and recognize when escalation or approval is required.
Working knowledge of construction safety practices and the ability to apply Company and customer site requirements in coordination with field leadership.
Understanding of structured cabling systems, including fiber and copper installation, labeling, testing, and acceptance documentation in data center or comparable mission-critical environments.
Ability to interpret detailed design drawings, specifications, contracts, and related documents to identify scope, deliverables, dependencies, and acceptance requirements.
Understanding of construction cost estimating, labor productivity, forecasting, cost-to-complete analysis, billing, and change management.
Ability to develop and maintain schedules, assess milestone impacts, and coordinate recovery plans across multiple teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to lead customer meetings, communicate risks clearly, and maintain accurate action and decision records.
Ability to build effective working relationships with customers, field teams, management, subcontractors, and vendors.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint, and experience with construction project management and document control tools.
Ability to work effectively under time constraints, adapt to changing requirements, and manage multiple priorities.
Commitment to continuous improvement, professional development, and team leadership.
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and relevant work experience.
Minimum of three years of relevant construction industry experience, including demonstrated responsibility for managing project scope, schedules, costs, customer communication, and closeout. Experience solely in estimating or field leadership must include comparable project delivery responsibilities.
Experience delivering structured cabling installations in data centers or comparable mission-critical facilities is required.
OSHA 30-hour training is required within the first six months of employment if not completed before hire. Any training or credentials required for site access must be completed before the applicable site assignment.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, and Textura is preferred.
Hyperscale data center experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Promote and follow the Company's Safety program and customer site policies. Partner with field leadership to address unsafe conditions and ensure schedule or cost pressures do not compromise safe execution.
Uphold Company Core Values and policies, and establish clear expectations for accountability, collaboration, and professional conduct.
Plan and manage assigned projects, including scope review, execution planning, mobilization, resource coordination, installation, testing, customer acceptance, and closeout.
Direct assigned Field Engineers and Project Coordinators, establish priorities, delegate tasks, and track completion. Coordinate field execution with Field Supervisors and Project Superintendents.
Develop and maintain project schedules, milestone plans, and short-term look-ahead schedules. Coordinate dependencies such as site readiness, customer access, preceding work by other trades, materials, equipment, and workforce availability.
Monitor daily production and labor productivity with field leadership. Identify deviations from planned performance and lead corrective actions and recovery planning when schedule or budget commitments are at risk.
Own the preparation and accuracy of monthly job cost forecasts, cost-to-complete estimates, progress billings, and supporting financial documentation. Review variances with program leadership and act within established approval limits.
Partner with Procurement and Field Operations to track material and equipment requirements, lead times, deliveries, and workforce needs against the project schedule.
Maintain accurate and current project records, including RFIs, submittents, change requests, decisions, risks, issues, and action items.
Identify and document changes to scope or execution conditions promptly. Prepare complete change request estimates, scope narratives, schedule impacts, and supporting documentation; obtain required approvals before implementing changes in accordance with contract and program procedures.
Manage subcontractor and vendor performance against agreed scope, schedule, quality, and documentation requirements. Escalate performance issues and coordinate corrective actions.
Serve as the day-to-day customer contact for assigned projects. Lead project status meetings and provide timely, accurate reporting on progress, milestones, financial status as appropriate, risks, decisions, and required actions.
Escalate risks affecting safety, quality, cost, or committed milestones promptly, with a clear assessment of impacts, recommended actions, and decisions or support needed.
Review project deliverables prepared by assigned team members for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contract and customer requirements before submission.
Partner with QA/QC and field leadership to implement project quality requirements, including installation inspections, cable labeling, testing, test-result documentation, and resolution of deficiencies.
Manage punch lists, as-built documentation, turnover packages, and other required closeout deliverables. Coordinate customer acceptance and obtain documented signoff against agreed acceptance criteria.
Support contract and change order negotiations with technical, schedule, and cost information, within delegated authority.
Capture lessons learned and implement practical improvements to project execution and reporting.
