Project Manager
About The Position
Byrne & Jones Construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager to own the full lifecycle execution of their design-build projects, including sports and park facilities, commercial and institutional work, and site development. The role spans from preconstruction handoff through closeout and warranty. The Project Manager will be responsible for the project's Profit and Loss (P&L), manage the buyout process, drive constructability and cost savings, and act as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. This is a leadership role where the Project Manager actively runs the job.
Requirements
- Five to ten years of progressive construction project management experience.
- Proven ownership of budget, schedule, and client relationship on a multi-million-dollar project as lead PM.
- Experience running two to four concurrent design-build projects ranging from $500,000 to $5 million.
- Ability to read, interpret, and add value to civil, structural, and architectural drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge across disciplines including civil, structural, MEP, and geotechnical, sufficient to coordinate design and evaluate constructability.
- A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent field experience.
- OSHA 30 certification required, or obtainable within 90 days.

Responsibilities
- Manage the project P&L, aiming to deliver contracted gross margin or better, and report variances monthly.
- Take ownership of the project from Estimating, conduct thorough budget, schedule, and scope reviews, and establish the baseline before mobilization.
- Develop and execute the buyout strategy, including subcontractor scoping, RFQ issuance, bid leveling, and award recommendations.
- Review site plans and specifications for constructability, identifying opportunities for savings in materials, methods, sequencing, and site logistics.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to scope gaps, differing site conditions, schedule exposure, and contract terms.
- Partner daily with the Superintendent on execution, crew loading, equipment, and subcontractor performance.
- Manage the client relationship by running OAC meetings, proactively communicating issues, and ensuring a positive relationship through closeout and warranty.
- Drive punch list completion, secure final payment and retainage release, and incorporate lessons learned into future projects.
