About The Position

AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a talented Water Treatment Project Manager with a passion for water, water conveyance, treatment plant evaluation, design, and construction. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an established career serving as a client-facing project manager on regional and municipal water treatment projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to immediately contribute to an established and successful water practice in the New England Area (Chelmsford, MA; Boston, MA; or Rocky Hill, CT) working on a diverse range of technically challenging water projects.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with 6+ years of related experience in water treatment, pumping, and conveyance systems.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records Review.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of related experience in water/wastewater consulting and engineering management.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in MA, CT, NH, RI, VT, ME or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Previous experience leading scope, technical approach, and pricing efforts for business development activities.
  • Previous water treatment, pumping stations, conveyance systems, and client relations experience.
  • Previous experience leading client and public presentations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and motivate staff and project team.
  • Previous experience leading design build/alternate delivery projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-discipline and complex water design projects from the planning through permitting and construction phases, including alternative delivery projects.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients with multiple projects, to approved scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Perform technical reviews and implement AECOM quality standards.
  • Serve as a point of contact internally and externally for projects and clients in the New England Area.
  • Consistently completes project without write-downs or multiplier erosion.
  • Develop and mentor mid-level and junior staff for career development.
  • Have decision-making authority and direct others in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such.
  • Lead business development activities, including pursuing new clients and projects and serving as leader of proposal efforts, including technical and cost pricing.
  • Actively participate in water and wastewater organizations through presentations at conferences and volunteering.
  • Travel to and/or work in Chelmsford, MA; Boston, MA; or Manchester, NH may be required on a scheduled basis.
