Project Manager - Transmission Capital Projects
About The Position
WECTEC Staffing Services, a subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support transmission-side capital projects within a regulated utility environment. The Project Manager will be the internal owner of project scope, partnering with EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) firms responsible for engineering and construction execution. This role involves overseeing projects from early planning and initiation through construction and final close-out, ensuring understanding across scope, schedule, budget, and important milestones. The position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale, critical infrastructure projects and collaborate with experienced EPC partners. The role is fully remote eligible, supporting projects based in Amarillo, TX, and across Texas and New Mexico. Travel is approximately 25% to substations and field sites across TX/NM. The schedule is full-time, with standard business hours in consideration of MST/CST, typically from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM MST, with some flexibility.
Requirements
- 5+ years of project management experience
- Experience working within an EPC model
- Background in utilities, electric transmission, or large-scale linear infrastructure (pipelines, roads, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Be the internal project owner, ensuring understanding on scope and timelines across all team members
- Collaborate daily with EPC partners to gather updates and track progress against milestones
- Partner with cost management teams on budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial tracking
- Work with schedulers to monitor timelines and identify risks or delays
- Prepare and deliver executive-level reports, dashboards, and project updates
- Coordinate collaboration between our teams and external partners
- Track project performance and ensure documentation through all phases of the project lifecycle
- Support projects from initiation through construction and close-out
