About The Position

The Project Manager – Site Network Delivery is IREN’s on-site owner’s representative for network infrastructure on a data center campus in Kiowa, Oklahoma. The role manages low-voltage contractors installing fiber and structured cabling, drives meet-me room, entrance-facility and network-room readiness, and ensures pathway, rack and power dependencies are incorporated into each building from the start. This is a full-time, on-site field role embedded with campus building teams and their coordination meetings, look-ahead schedules, RFI processes and submittal logs. The role takes day-to-day sequencing from the campus Project Director, delivers to standards set by Network Infrastructure Engineering, and works alongside Senior Project Managers – Network Delivery responsible for carrier delivery. The superintendent directs crews; this role owns the network scope and its acceptance. The role coordinates network milestones with construction, inspects and verifies low-voltage and fiber work, manages network-scope documentation and change control, and supports equipment and carrier installation. It also captures infrastructure records and assembles the network handover package. The position provides status and recommendations to the Director, Network Delivery and campus Project Director, and gives day-to-day direction and development feedback to any Project Manager assigned to support campus network scope. The role requires daily attendance at the project site, reliable commuting or relocation before starting, and travel to other IREN sites as needed. Flexible work hours are required. A clear criminal record check is required. The candidate must provide steel-toed work boots; other PPE is supplied. Compensation is based on experience, qualifications and regional market data and may include an annual incentive bonus, equity and relocation assistance, depending on candidate circumstances.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in telecommunications, structured cabling or data center construction, including at least 1 year supporting project delivery as a project engineer, assistant project manager, low-voltage coordinator or similar on data center, mission-critical or commercial construction projects.
  • Ability to read Division 27 drawings and specifications covering fiber counts, pathways, cable tray, racks, panels, labeling and testing requirements, and flag discrepancies for review.
  • Field exposure to low-voltage and fiber contractors, including assisting with submittals and RFIs, attending rough-in and trim inspections, and tracking punch-list and non-conformance items through close-out.
  • Basic understanding of fiber test acceptance, including Tier 1 insertion loss, Tier 2/OTDR, polarity and end-face inspection, and ability to review a test package against the specification with guidance.
  • Project administration skills, including maintaining RFI and submittal logs, meeting minutes and action registers, and supporting change-order packages and pay-application review.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including preparing accurate status updates on network scope, schedule and budget risks for project leadership.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced growth environment and flexibility regarding work hours and site-based work.
  • OSHA 10 certification, or willingness to obtain it within 90 days; OSHA 30 is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook; exposure to MS Project.
  • Clear criminal record check.
  • Must provide own steel-toed work boots; all other PPE is supplied.
  • Must reliably commute to the project site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
  • Flexible approach to work hours and ability to travel to other IREN sites as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Inside-plant and campus-backbone experience, including MMR/MDF/IDF fit-out, pathways and cable tray, fiber and copper structured cabling, cross-connects, patch panels and labeling standards.
  • On-site carrier-interface experience, including entrance conduit and handholes, carrier rack space and power, splice and test acceptance, and service turn-up support.
  • Familiarity with operational technology network dependencies for BMS, EPMS, fire/life-safety monitoring, security, CCTV, access control and Wi-Fi.
  • Experience capturing rack, panel, port and cable data during construction for NetBox or other DCIM platforms.
  • Exposure to high-fiber-count trunk installation and splicing in data halls.
  • Experience independently managing or leading a scope, including vendor coordination, inspections and close-out.
  • BICSI Installer/Technician, FOA CFOT or equivalent; RCDD is a plus.
  • CAPM, PMP or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with direct-to-subcontractor (multi-prime) and/or GC-led delivery.
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, SAP or Primavera P6.
  • OSHA 30 certification.

Responsibilities

  • Act as IREN’s single point of contact to low-voltage and fiber contractors for campus network scope, specifications and acceptance; leave sequencing and means and methods to the superintendent.
  • Verify contractor work against Division 27 scope and approved design, and raise deviations through RFIs to Network Infrastructure Engineering rather than resolving them in the field.
  • Review contractor submittals, material tracking and long-lead items against the schedule, and recommend contractor performance actions to the Director.
  • Drive meet-me room, entrance-facility and network-room readiness, including conduit, handholes, pathways, cable tray, racks, panels, grounding and A/B power for carrier and network racks.
  • Coordinate network pathway, rack and power dependencies with electrical, mechanical and civil trades on each building team.
  • Maintain network milestones in the campus Integrated Project Master Schedule, with the construction project manager owning milestone dates.
  • Attend daily and weekly building-team coordination meetings and look-ahead reviews; flag network dependencies before they affect building milestones.
  • Conduct rough-in and trim inspections with the superintendent and verify installation, labeling and workmanship against specifications.
  • Review fiber test packages against Network Infrastructure Engineering acceptance standards, and drive non-conformance close-out and defect rectification.
  • Support network-equipment and carrier-gear installation windows with Network Engineering, carriers and vendors.
  • Comply with IREN’s Risk, QA and HSE management systems and promote a zero-harm, positive HSE culture on site.
  • Maintain campus network RFI and submittal logs, meeting minutes and action registers.
  • Prepare telecom change-order packages for the Director’s approval and review network-scope pay applications before construction releases them.
  • Capture construction source data for NetBox or other DCIM platforms, including racks, panels, ports, cables and circuits, in the required format.
  • Assemble the network handover package, including as-builts, test results, labeling schedules, DCIM records and asset information; lead the joint punch and acceptance walk and handover to Operations.
  • Give day-to-day direction to Project Managers assigned to support campus network scope, including performance feedback and an agreed development plan.
  • Provide concise, reliable campus network status to the Director, Network Delivery and campus Project Director in the weekly campus network review.
  • Escalate site issues first with the superintendent, then to the construction project manager and Director, with a recommendation.
  • Travel to other IREN sites as needed.
