About The Position

MSA is hiring a full-time Project Manager Planning in our Appleton or Milwaukee office location. This person will collaborate with our internal staff of planners, engineers, and architects to complete a wide variety of projects. Our planning group provides planning and design services to public and private clients in a variety of settings and addresses issues including comprehensive planning, downtown revitalization, economic development, park & rec planning, transportation planning, and development entitlement and design. We are seeking someone with experience and success as a planning consultant, someone who brings an entrepreneurial spirit and project management expertise to the improvement of communities in collaboration with colleagues and clients. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Community and Regional Planning or related degree required
  • 6+ years of experience in planning required
  • Previous work experience in consulting is required, including familiarity with project management in a consulting environment
  • This position requires you to have authorization to work in the United States for any employer. We will not provide sponsorship for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • AICP certification strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and summarize data from various sources
  • Create plan documents, including planning policy (content) and document design (format)
  • Design and/or assist with public engagement activities
  • Prepare policies for plans and ordinances that guide community development, and/or assist with ordinance administration
  • Manage and coordinate the work of other planners on specific projects to ensure budget management and timely task completion
  • Lead the preparation of proposals and statements of qualifications
  • Mentorship of other staff
