The Materials Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and quantifying continuous improvement projects designed to improve efficiency by eliminating waste and creating value for our customers. This role involves assisting management and team members in establishing projects that align with Continuous Improvement Objectives and the vision of the department. The Project Manager will develop project tasks, establish resources, and perform analysis of project costs, providing data analysis for projects to assist management in prioritizing them. They will also allocate work, assist in controlling the utilization of the resource pool, establish methods for tracking root causes, and provide corrective analysis. Additionally, this role supports the Materials Management team in the development and execution of a Distribution Requirements/Resource Planning strategy to satisfy inventory demands at global distribution centers by optimizing enterprise resource planning applications. Weekly reviews with management regarding continuous improvement objectives and project status are required, along with maintaining accurate records of manpower requirements, budget performance, and project status. If a project is outsourced to a vendor, the Project Manager will provide legal documentation, establish and follow up on the project scope of work, and validate vendor invoices. The role also ensures high visibility of project measurements and develops metrics for inventory accuracy.
