Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automated Production, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Member of the OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec).
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with mechanical industrial installations (platforms, presses, lifting equipment).
  • Proficiency in French and English.
  • Skilled in Autocad, Inventor, Creo, or other CAD software.
  • Leadership in implementing new improvement solutions.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
  • Leadership, autonomy, ownership, and initiative.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects.
  • Coordinate and supervise work teams (subcontractors, suppliers, unionized employees).
  • Draft technical specifications and participate in machine safety analyses.
  • Apply continuous improvement methods to optimize solutions.
  • Organize tenders for the purchase, installation, or modernization of heavy equipment.
  • Coordinate compliance activities for industrial installations and equipment.
  • Prepare investment requests (Capex).
  • Assess project risks and make decisions on their viability.
  • Contribute to developing indicators to monitor process stability.
  • Design parts and tooling using CAD software (Inventor, CREO).
  • Collaborate with operators and maintenance staff on improvement projects.
  • Participate in machine modifications to increase safety or efficiency.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
