Project Manager - Machining

About The Position

Husco is seeking a manufacturing leader to connect engineering, operations, and supplier partnerships and bring new products from concept to production. The Project Manager - Machining leads supplier development and launch activities, improves manufacturing capabilities across the global supply base, and serves as a technical resource for machining and process development. The role influences product quality, launch success, and long-term operational performance. The position works with suppliers and cross-functional teams to improve manufacturability, quality, cost, and delivery. It leads launch readiness through APQP, PPAP, process validation, and production ramp-up; evaluates supplier capabilities and risks; and uses production and quality data to drive corrective actions and process improvement. Collaboration includes Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, and Supplier Quality, as well as global supplier quality leaders and suppliers. Global travel of up to 20% is required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Metallurgical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
10 years of experience in supplier development, manufacturing engineering, supplier quality, casting launch, heavy machining, or related technical project leadership.
Strong communication, project planning, issue resolution, and influencing skills.
Ability to collaborate globally with regional supplier quality leaders, suppliers, Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations.
Strong understanding of manufacturing quality systems and supplier quality methodologies, including APQP, PPAP, process capability analysis, dimensional control, root cause problem solving, and continuous improvement practices.
Ability to travel globally up to 20%.
Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Lead supplier development activities for new product launches, ensuring manufacturing readiness from design release through production implementation.
Partner with suppliers and cross-functional teams to improve manufacturability, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
Drive launch readiness activities, including APQP, PPAP, process validation, and production ramp-up.
Provide technical leadership in machining, casting, tooling, fixturing, dimensional control, and manufacturing process optimization.
Assess supplier capabilities, identify risks, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen manufacturing performance.
Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, and Supplier Quality to resolve technical challenges and support successful product launches.
Analyze production and quality data to drive problem-solving, corrective actions, and long-term process improvement.
