About The Position

Velos is seeking a Project Manager Level IV to support an engineering and technical services contract at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) facility in Washington, DC. This full-time position requires a Top Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship. The role oversees program performance and on-site work involving the development of structures and electro-mechanical devices for spaceflight use, with an emphasis on aerospace systems and launch vehicle requirements. The Project Manager serves as the customer’s point of contact for technical progress, problems, program performance, schedules, costs, resources, and other program activities. The position directs and monitors program tasks and on-site employees, manages thermal testing logistics and other work described in the statement of work, and coordinates with customers, project leads, and employees to resolve conflicts and support program execution.

Requirements

Top Secret clearance.
U.S. citizenship.
An additional 15 years of related experience with aerospace systems.
Five years managing aerospace efforts.
Hardware experience in the design, development, and implementation of aerospace systems.
Knowledge of launch vehicles and launch vehicle requirements.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or another relevant technical field preferred.

Responsibilities

Assure effective performance of program tasks.
Plan and direct the development of structures and electro-mechanical devices for spaceflight use.
Monitor day-to-day activities of all on-site work.
Provide work assignments, prioritize work, and supervise all on-site employees.
Ensure management of thermal testing logistics and all other work described in the statement of work.
Resolve conflicts and participate in meetings and discussions with the customer, project leads, and employees.
Read, interpret, and review drawings and specifications.
