About The Position

Velos is hiring an Assembly Technician Level IV to support an engineering and technical services contract at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) facility in Washington, DC. This is a full-time position requiring Top Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship. The role supports the development, assembly, integration, and testing of space hardware and systems.

Requirements

Associate's degree in a technical field or a technical certificate in mechanical assembly, or military technical training with an additional 20 years of experience assembling flight hardware.
Top Secret clearance.
U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

Assemble qualification hardware, flight hardware, and test equipment.
Use appropriate facilities in the development and testing of space hardware and systems.
Assist engineers and analysts during spacecraft testing, integration, and launch activities, providing feedback based on experience assembling flight hardware.
Fabricate and assemble test fixtures and space system structures, mechanisms, and subassemblies from engineering drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
Read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
Operate power and hand tools used in the aerospace environment.
Plan, process, and assemble hardware from blueprints, procedures, and verbal instructions.
Provide expertise to Journeyman Assembly Technicians.
