About The Position
This role requires extensive experience managing transformational enterprise-wide IT projects in complex, multi-departmental environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of project management, including budget and timeline management, scope management, resource estimation and management, risk and issues management, organizational change management, timely decision-making, critical path identification, business transformation, data transformation/migration, and user experience optimization. The role also involves significant experience with contract negotiations, procurement procedures, and vendor and contract management, often within a matrix project management environment. Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Enterprise Project Management or SharePoint is expected. The position demands excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively report project status to executive and senior management, as well as business and technical stakeholders. Strong people management skills are essential for leading technical project teams in application development and infrastructure solution implementation.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
- Extensive experience managing all aspects of transformational enterprise-wide IT projects in complex multi-departmental environments (including budget and timeline management, scope management, estimating and managing project resources, risk management, issues management, organizational change management, timely decision making, critical path identification, business transformation, data transformation/migration, user experience optimization, etc.)
- Considerable experience with contract negotiations, procurement procedures and Vendor and Contract Management.
- Experience working in a matrix project management environment using tools such as Microsoft Enterprise Project Management, SharePoint, or other equivalent project schedule and project document management tools.
- Experience managing a project focused on a large technology procurement.
- Knowledge of using project management tools for planning and implementing complex projects and packages.
- Ability to manage large-scale multi-divisional technology projects.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills including ability to effectively communicate project status to multiple streams of Executive and Senior management, business, and technical stakeholders for assigned projects.
- Excellent people management skills and experience working with and managing technical project teams in application development, implementation of infrastructure solutions.
- 10+ years Extensive experience managing all aspects of transformational enterprise-wide/public-facing IT projects with the focus on Agile/Scrum in complex multi-departmental environments (including Scrum ceremonies, planning/scope/timeline management, risk/issues management, timely decision making, critical path identification, user experience optimization, etc.)
- 8-10+ years Extensive experience Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and Certified Scrum Master (CSM) are required.
- 8-10+ years Extensive practical experience with Agile/Scrum as Scrum Master, this includes Extensive hands-on experience with Agile ceremonies facilitation (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and backlog refinement/management
- 5+ years Extensive experience delivering high profile, highly visible and mission critical UI modernization projects
Nice To Haves
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification considered an asset
- Agile coaching experience, facilitating, mentoring, and training individuals, teams, and organizations to adopt and improve agile practices
- Considerable experience with contract negotiations, procurement procedures and Vendor and Contract Management.
- Understanding/experience with SAFe
