About The Position

Saputo is seeking a Senior Project Leader, Engineering, for an existing opportunity within their organization. Under the supervision of the Director of Engineering - Cheese Plants, the Project Leader is responsible for planning, estimating and carrying out capital projects related to the field, through the Canadian division plants. This role requires a highly motivated candidate with a high level of leadership, based in the Saskatoon plant in Saskatchewan. Travel across Canada will be required for this position, depending on the project (30-50% of the time).

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent training
5-7 years of relevant experience
Knowledge of AutoCAD software, the Office suite including MS Project & OneNote
Excellent interpersonal skills and a field approach
Demonstrates a high degree of autonomy & motivation, ability to prioritize and manage emergencies
Communicates in English (both orally and in writing)
Have a car and a valid driver's license
Be a team player and have an appetite for big challenges
Willingness to travel across Canada (30-50%)

Responsibilities

Plan, manage and support the various CapEx projects for Canadian plants, process installation projects, packaging, building, utilities, Sustainability, Environmental, Health & Safety & Food Safety
Establish preliminary concepts for equipment layout and present them to plants and related departments
Actively participate in the development and maintenance of installation standards
Coordinate and supervise the execution of projects, including monitoring the various subcontractors and make yourself available during the work (perhaps outside regular working hours)
Collaborate with the buyer in the engineering department, define equipment specifications and purchase offers, make their selection and group purchases in order to optimize costs
Prepare budget & Schedule estimates in close collaboration with other departments (operations, maintenance)
Ensure rigorous management of the allocated budget and communicate progress on a regular basis
Establish, monitor and respect project schedules, communicate to the project team the progress, problems encountered and solutions proposed
