About The Position

Symbotic is seeking an ICS Implementation Project Manager to join its Industrial Controls Program Management team. The role plans, scopes, schedules, and coordinates industrial controls (PLC) updates, hotfixes, and sustaining releases across live operational sites. It also facilitates intake and triage of site issues and requests through Jira, working closely with Site Operations and cross-functional teams to manage release windows and minimize disruption. The position establishes structured release cadences, change-management controls, rollback plans, and operational gating criteria. It also standardizes rollout runbooks, creates visibility dashboards, and uses post-release retrospectives to improve fleetwide deployments. The role coordinates across Controls Engineering, Software Release, software quality assurance, and Site Operations to convert operational requests and fixes into structured, risk-mitigated release windows. Travel of up to 25% may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive and/or fly to client locations and company headquarters. Business travel expenses are reimbursed under program guidelines; eligible employees may receive a corporate credit card, although a personal card may be needed during onboarding.

  • Experience coordinating complex, multi-stakeholder release schedules, site maintenance windows, and structured change-management protocols.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, including the ability to align engineering, software quality assurance, and 24/7 site operations teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (such as Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, Systems, or Computer Science), or equivalent practical technical experience.

  • Facilitate triage and intake for live-site issues, enhancement requests, and field escalations, ensuring backlog hygiene, technical scoping, prioritization, and SLA tracking in Jira.
  • Serve as the primary cross-functional liaison with Site Operations leads and partners to negotiate maintenance windows, rollout schedules, and pre- and post-update verification procedures.
  • Enforce Management of Change protocols, rollback strategies, and operational gating criteria to minimize unplanned downtime during controls deployments.
  • Establish repeatable planning and release cadences that minimize site disruption and support predictable rollouts.
  • Standardize rollout runbooks, build visibility dashboards, and refine post-release retrospectives to streamline fleetwide controls deployments.
