About The Position

O2EPCM, Inc. is seeking a PROJECT MANAGER II (TDIP Assistant Project Manager - MEPF) for a full-time, onsite position in Los Angeles, CA. This role is part of a major capital program focused on modernizing LAX passenger terminals to improve customer experience, operational efficiency, safety, and system reliability. The TDIP Assistant Project Manager (MEPF) reports to the assigned Senior Project Manager and is responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and operational interfaces of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEPF) and specialty systems design and construction activities within an assigned Terminal Development and Improvement Program (TDIP) project. This role manages the technical scope, cost, schedule, and performance of MEPF systems and building infrastructure throughout design and construction, ensuring the development and implementation of design coordination, installation, and turnover plans, while proactively managing risks associated with MEPF system installation, startup, and operational impacts to existing facilities.

Requirements

  • 10+ years managing MEP systems design and construction
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure (airport experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated coordination of MEPF and controls systems
  • Experience supporting commissioning and system turnover
  • Technical Knowledge: HVAC systems, Electrical distribution, Plumbing and utilities, Fire protection/life safety systems, Building automation and controls
  • Delivery Methods Experience: Design-Bid-Build, CMAR, Design-Build
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning or other related technical field (required)
  • Consultant MUST have a company-provided laptop computer.
  • Cell phone provided by consultant is required

  • Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, etc. or any other relevant professional licensure and/or certifications

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary technical liaison for MEPF systems
  • Manage MEPF design scope and ensure alignment with operational requirements
  • Lead procurement and technical evaluation of consultants, contractors, and vendors
  • Oversee installation, testing, startup, and commissioning activities
  • Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and resource plans
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to minimize operational disruptions
  • Identify and resolve technical, constructability, and integration challenges
  • Conduct field investigations and infrastructure assessments
  • Maintain documentation for design criteria, submittments, testing, and commissioning records
  • Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, and technical change proposals
  • Mechanical and electrical codes
  • Fire and life safety systems
  • Energy and sustainability standards
  • Airport operational requirements
  • Coordinate system shutdowns, tie-ins, and phasing plans
  • Evaluate contractor performance and approve pay applications
