The Project Manager II, Facilities role is responsible for managing multiple small- to medium-sized construction, renovation, deferred maintenance, and infrastructure projects through all phases of delivery. This includes programming, design, procurement, construction, occupancy, and project closeout. The role involves developing and maintaining project scope, schedules, and budgets, coordinating project activities, and addressing issues to ensure successful project outcomes. A key aspect of this position is ensuring compliance with university standards, policies, and procedures. The Project Manager II will also serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, coordinating with various university departments, faculty, staff, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders. This includes facilitating project meetings, communicating project status, and translating departmental needs into project requirements. Procurement and contract administration are also significant responsibilities, involving coordination of procurement activities, assisting with consultant and contractor selection, administering contracts, reviewing change orders, and processing payment requests while maintaining project documentation. Financial management includes developing and monitoring project budgets, reviewing expenditures, tracking contingency usage, and assisting with fiscal accountability. Construction administration involves monitoring construction activities for compliance with contract documents, schedules, quality, and safety requirements, and resolving construction issues. The role also promotes sustainable design and construction practices aligned with university goals and ensures projects integrate with campus infrastructure and master planning. Finally, the position provides project management support and technical consultation to Operations & Maintenance for facility improvement projects and building repairs.
