About The Position

DOWL is seeking a skilled bridge inspection leader to oversee its in-service inspection portfolio. The position manages bridge inspection projects for state and local agencies to ensure compliance with the National Bridge Inventory System, as well as work for public and private clients involving non-NBI structures such as culverts and pedestrian bridges. The role may also lead inspections of port and marine structures, water and wastewater facilities, dams, and irrigation infrastructure across the Pacific Northwest. Depending on experience and career goals, the position may manage bridge and structural design or construction engineering management projects. The role offers autonomy and resources to grow DOWL’s regional inspection services. The Project Manager is responsible for winning, managing, monitoring, and delivering high-quality, profitable projects that satisfy clients. It requires strong communication and organizational skills, sound judgment, technical proficiency, and the ability to assimilate complex information and make informed decisions. The Project Manager leads multiple moderate-size, moderately complex projects, develops scopes, schedules, and budgets, and is accountable for project quality, client satisfaction, and financial outcomes. The position works independently with minimal oversight while providing leadership and guidance to less experienced team members as needed. The position requires a bachelor’s degree and six years of experience, or five years with an advanced degree; no prior years as a project manager are required. A Certified Bridge Inspection Team Lead credential under CFR 650.309 is required. A PE is required depending on discipline. A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required. Project duties involve site visits and other off-site meetings and may require responding to urgent project needs in person. The work environment is usually moderately noisy; employees regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and use their hands, and occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.
