About The Position

This role involves leading capital projects of various sizes and complexities, including FF&E retrofits, staff relocations, and IT support projects. The Project Manager will initiate projects, define scope, budget, timeline, and expectations with end users and leadership. They will establish and maintain project management filing systems, workflows, and document control using e-builder. Collaboration with project teams (end users, consultants, contractors, vendors, and other SRH departments) is crucial to deliver projects that meet user needs within budget and schedule constraints. Financial accountability for all project transactions, including approving requisitions and invoices, is required. The role also involves negotiating and soliciting bids and contracts, managing consultant and vendor progress and costs, and ensuring adherence to contract terms. Site observations will be conducted to ensure construction meets quality and operational standards, as well as safety requirements (Disruption and Access, ILSM, ICRAs, Above Ceiling, Hot Work permits). Regular above ceiling inspections for fire penetration deficiencies and corrections are also part of the duties. Projects must be delivered in compliance with SRH policies, agency requirements, city codes, and Joint Commission standards. Ensuring timely completion of punch list items and receipt of close-out documentation from all parties is essential. Accurate documentation of final project costs and timeframes on tracking forms and project summaries is required. Additionally, the Project Manager will lead, supervise, and develop the internal construction team (Carpenters, Painters, Locksmiths), managing all aspects of minor construction projects assigned to them. Monitoring work tickets for general building maintenance and repairs, assigning and monitoring work orders for the team, and overseeing vendors and subcontractors are key responsibilities. Support for the Engineering department during maintenance emergencies and conducting Environment of Care (EOC) rounds with a focus on patient care areas and work environments are also included. All responsibilities apply to oversight of work on both the Dallas and Frisco campuses.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in construction.
  • Have a working knowledge in understanding construction documents and floorplans.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of concrete, framing, drywall, tape/bed/paint, ceiling, flooring, doors/frames/hardware, and building envelope.
  • Must be able to collaborate and communicate respectfully and effectively with all levels of staff, vendors, and contractors.
  • Must work well under deadline pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of or ability and willingness to work with technical systems such as, but not limited to, E-Builder, Truasset and Bluebeam.
  • May substitute required education degree with additional years of qualified, leadership experience in construction supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate projects and meet with end users and Administrative Director of Facilities or Sr. Project Manager to determine the users’ scope, budget, timeline, and expectations.
  • Initiate project management filing system, project workflow, and maintain document control throughout the duration of the project in e-builder.
  • Work with all project team members (end user, consultants, contractors, vendors and other pertinent SRH departments) to deliver the project that meets the end users needs while remaining within budget and schedule.
  • Be accountable for all project financial transactions, approving of all requisitions and invoices to ensure the project will be complete at or under budget.
  • Negotiate, solicit bids, contracts from consultants and vendors that will best achieve the required results in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Effectively manage the progress and costs of the consultants and vendors holding them accountable for fulfilling contract terms.
  • Observe the projects construction sites on a regular basis to determine whether the construction meets quality and operational standards.
  • With support from SRH Safety, observe the projects construction sites on a regular basis to determine whether all requirements of the Disruption and Access form, Interim Life Safety (ILSM) permit, Infection Control (ICRAs), Above Ceiling permit, and Hot Work permits are all complete and fully signed off prior to the start of scheduled work and maintained.
  • Perform regular above ceiling inspections for fire penetration deficiencies and correct as required.
  • Deliver projects within the constraints of all applicable SRH policies, procedures and standards, agency requirements, city codes, and Joint Commission (TJC) requirements.
  • Ensure that all items on the projects punch list are completed in a timely manner prior to go-live.
  • Ensure that all required close-out documentation is received from consultants, contractors and vendors in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all final project costs and timeframes are accurately documented on the project tracking forms and project summary.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop the facility’s internal construction team of Carpenters, Painters, and Locksmiths.
  • Manage all components of minor construction projects assigned to the Facilities Construction Team, including planning, coordination, bidding, budgeting, scheduling, construction, and occupancy.
  • Monitor work tickets requested to the Facilities department for general building maintenance and repairs and assign and monitor work orders for completion to the team.
  • Oversee vendors and subcontractors performing work on site under the Facilities department.
  • Support the Engineering department in the event of maintenance emergencies.
  • Conduct Environment of Care (EOC) rounds with key stakeholders, with a keen focus on the aesthetics of patient care areas and general work environments.
  • All responsibilities apply to oversight of work on both the Dallas and Frisco campuses.
